Lights 1949 to 1956

On leaving Wellington, John did two years National Service in the Somerset Light Infantry then won a scholarship to Cambridge, gaining a First Class degree. He went on to work for the World Bank and was one of the foremost soil erosion expects and a fellow of the Royal Geographical Society.
